How the Nazis misused Norse mythology
English
For english, I wrote my very own Norse myth. Myths are stories that explain how something came to be or an explanation for certain events. My myth was the story of a goddess named Vinattr. She is the Norse goddess of wine and fellowship, and the daughter of Loki, the god of Mischief. It is the story of the first tavern, or bar, came to be.
Social Studies
For social studies I wrote an informative essay that shows how Nazi Germany misused Norse mythology for their own personal benefit. It goes over the misuse in propaganda, strategies, and quest for racial superiority all in an effort to show that Norse isn't what the Germans make it, so it should be taught and talked about instead of put away by schools.
Art
For art, I created a sculpture of Thor's hammer, Mjölnir. It shows the importance of sculpting in Norse mythology. I chose Mjölnir because of the swastika, which is normally seen as the Nazi symbol, is the Norse symbol for Thor's hammer.
